Project Summary

Conservation easement that protects a section of Bronson Creek (Rock Creek Watershed), its riparian area and floodplain as well as a 25 year old Ponderosa Pine forest.

Carbon offset funds from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums conference in 2009 will be used for carbon sequestration through permanent forest protection on the Bronson Creek site. In addition to sequestering carbon dioxide, this project will provide secondary benefits for wildlife including habitat connectivity along the creek and restoration of floodplain and streamside habitats.
