Community Conservation Grant

Project #: 508394  –   Updated: October 13, 2017

Project Summary

The City of Springfield converted one traffic island from turf to native wildflowers. The original plan was to convert two traffic islands, but we received partial funding from the grant. We wanted to complete the entire planting with plugs so that we would have a landscape established and flowering the next growing season. The plan is to use the island as an example for future native planting projects throughout the city.
